Homemade Soudough Croutons
Ingredients
- ½ loaf Sourdough or rustic country bread round, diced
- ⅓ cup extra virgin olive oil
- ½ teaspoon Kosher Salt
- ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper, freshly ground
- ½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375F degrees. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper
- Slice the bread into one inch thick pieces, then into "sticks". cut then sticks into one inch pieces. Transfer the bread cubes to a medium-sized bowl, then add the olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder and toss together to coat everything.
- Transfer the bread cubes the baking sheet, and spread them into an even layer. Bake for 7 minutes, remove from oven and turn the croutons over with a spatula. Return to the oven for another 7-10 minutes until lightly browned and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and use right away, or cool and store in an airtight container for up to a week.
