Equipment

  • medium sauce pan
  • heat proof metal bowl
  • large baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • rubber spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Chocolate, white, semi-sweet or milk in any combination
  • 1 cup Pretzel Sticks
  • 1 cup Butter Toffee Peanuts or Almonds

Instructions

  • Prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper. Make a double boiler by using a medium saucepan and filling it with it a quarter of the way with water. Bring to a gentle boil.
Place a metal or heat-safe bowl inside the saucepan, but don't let it touch the water. The bowl should sit comfortably in the saucepan without touching the bottom or the water. Place the chocolate in the bowl and let it sit for a few minutes to melt, then stir occasionally with a rubber spatula.
When melted, carefully pull the bowl out of the saucepan (use a towel to anchor it and catch any hot water drippings) ...stir the chocolate a few more times to make sure it's smooth.
Pour the melted chocolate down the middle of the parchment-lined baking sheet and spread it into a roughly-sized nine or ten inch rectangle.
Add the pretzels and the nuts in decorative shapes all over the top.
  • Let it cool completely by placing it in the refrigerator or freezer or cool place for 30 minutes, break it up with a knife and serve.

Notes

  • Add sprinkles or other candy or nuts on top if you'd like.
  • I like a sweet peanut or almond on this - the butter toffee kind, but use any variety of nuts that you'd like.
  • Try a combination of semi-sweet and milk chocolate for this bark, it's so good!
  • Skip the white chocolate entirely, or drizzle it over the top before adding the peanuts and pretzels for variation.
