Equipment

  • Electric Blender
  • Measuring Cups
  • knife

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Pineapple chunks, canned, undrained
  • 1 large Banana, Frozen
  • 2 cups Mango chunks, frozen
  • ¼ cup Pineapple Juice
  • ¼ cup Plant Based Milk like almond milk
  • Berries and mint and plain yogurt for garnish, if desired

Instructions

  • In an electric blender, add the pineapple chunks, the frozen banana, the mango chunks, a quarter cup of the pineapple juice from the can, the almond milk (or whatever milk you are using) and blend together on high speed until completely smooth and pour-able.
Add more juice or milk if the mixture is stiff until you have a pourable consistency.
Pour into glasses and garnish with fruit and mint and a dollop of yogurt, if desired.

Notes

  • If you're smoothie is too thick, add a little more liquid at a time until it's easy to pour. You can use pineapple juice from the can, more milk or even a little orange juice.
  • Experiment with different kinds of fruits and vegetables to add to the smoothie. (Though it's perfectly good and tasty as is!).
  • Try other tropical fruits like pineapple or papaya, or add some greens like a handful of fresh spinach or kale for variation.
  • Use frozen mango chunks and banana for the best, creamy results with this smoothie. You can freeze the pineapple too, but it's not necessary.
  • Make this recipe vegan by adding in plant-based yogurt, milk, or silken tofu.
  • Make it sweeter by adding some honey or agave nectar.
  • Boost the protein by adding a scoop of your favorite protein powder, chia or hemp seeds before blending.
  • Pour the smoothie into a bowl and top with fresh fruit, granola, honey and nut buttr for a really delicious smoothie bowl.
