Classic Savory Chicken Salad Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 ½ Cups Cooked chicken, cut into cubes
- 1 stalk Celery, sliced thin
- 2 tablespoons Red Onion, diced thin see notes
- 2 teaspoons Fresh Dill, chopped fine see notes
- 1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley, chopped fine
- ½ teaspoon Kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard see notes
- ⅓ cup Mayonnaise or plain Greek Yogurt
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, add the cubed chicken and with clean hands, break the chicken apart with your fingers to loosen it up.
- Add the celery to the bowl, along with the onion, dill, parsley, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Next, add the fresh lemon juice, the Dijon mustard and the mayonnaise or Greek yogurt. Mix gently with a large spoon to combine. Serve with toasted bread, crackers, on sandwich bread, or in lettuce cups. Keeps refrigerated in an air-tight container for 3-4 days.
